Tony Allen and Jeff Mills – Tomorrow Comes The Harvest

When you bring together two music legends, of the stature of Tony Allen and Jeff Mills, the chances of them creating a masterpiece are naturally very high. And what is Tomorrow Comes The Harvest (2018) if not a work of art? The EP, as per the description of @rollingstone, is a scene set for “cross-generational, cross-disciplinary, cross-continental exchange with very high potential.” The dynamic range is impressive and even if the contributions of both artists are evident, they aren’t overpowering in relation to one another, mixing seamlessly in what can be considered one of the best collaborations of the decade.

Jeff Mills (@jeff_mills_official )is an American DJ, composer, and producer, who became known as The Wizard in the early ‘80s, and founded the Detroit techno collective Underground Resistance (@undergroundresistance313 )with fellow producers Mike Banks and Robert Hood. In 2017, he was awarded the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French government for his exceptional accomplishments in the artistic field.

Tony Allen (@allencodrum )is a Nigerian drummer, composer and songwriter best known for his work with Fela Kuti’s band Africa ‘70 and for being one of the primary co-founders of Afrobeat in the early ‘80s.
